During my recent New Year's stay at Hotel Little Chapel Christmas in Wakayama, I found myself charmed by its unique blend of intimacy and comfort, perfectly suited for a getaway. The spacious room-quite a rarity in Japan-warmly greeted us with its inviting flair, though the initial musky aroma was a tad overpowering. The highlight, however, was the invitingly large bed that made for some delightful rest after a day of exploring. Breakfast was served a bit earlier than requested, which was thoughtful, considering my early plans. It's not every day you find a hotel artfully catering to its guests, and with options for American or Asian breakfast, it certainly hit the spot. With all the amenities you could need-like air conditioning and a bathtub that could use a little extra space for tall folks like me-it struck a lovely balance between modern comfort and playful design. Being close to Wakayama Station made our adventures seamless, and the staff was incredibly pleasant, ensuring our needs were met while respecting our privacy. This little gem didn't disappoint, offering a great value at around $50 a night! If you're looking for a unique spot with character and convenient access to local sights, I highly recommend it for a lovely weekend escape.
